Shopify Search & Discovery displays collection filters using product options and supported metafields. Useful filters need accurate, consistent information behind them.
Read Shopify's filter guideWe look at your collections, existing shopping options and product information to find missing attributes, inconsistent values and gaps in coverage.
We organise details from your product information into consistent filter values across the current catalog. Specifications that need confirmation are flagged.
We prepare useful new attributes for your filter setup, with suitable options for each product category. The goal: make the right products easier to find.
From collection filters to metafields, here's where to start.
Ask about your storeIn Shopify Search & Discovery, open Filters, select Add filter, choose a source and save. Your theme must support storefront filtering. Custom attributes need populated product options or supported metafields before shoppers can use them.
Metafields store structured product details, such as fabric, dimensions or a rechargeable feature. Supported metafields can become custom filters in Search & Discovery. The relevant products need consistent values so shoppers can find matching items.
Check that your theme supports filters, the filter source is configured and the products in that collection have matching values. Shopify also hides filters on collections with more than 5,000 products. A filter hidden by empty values needs a data check, not just a new label.
A filter app provides the controls. Filter Ready focuses on the product information behind them: checking existing values, correcting inconsistencies, filling supported gaps and preparing useful new attributes across your current catalog. We review your existing setup to identify which data it needs.
Yes. We check for inconsistent names, incorrect values and products missing from relevant filters. We correct and complete the data where your product information supports it, then propose useful additions for each category. Unclear specifications are flagged for confirmation.
The filters depend on what you sell. Clothing might need fabric and fit; furniture, dimensions and materials; lighting, power source and dimmability. These are examples. For stores with several categories, we consider suitable attributes across the entire current catalog.
Shopify is our current focus, but useful filter data matters on other platforms too. Send us your store URL and the platform you use so we can review the catalog and filter setup before confirming what is possible.
